My images are a celebration of the natural world. I use landscape and nature photography as a way to connect with the world around me on a deeper level. I am also fascinated with creating abstract expressive images that are simple, graphic and surreal that evokes emotion or tell a story. I believe in a strong foundation of the elements and principles of design and an expressive use of colour, composition and light and incorporate these elements into my style.
My Photography Approach
My subject matter whether statement, the natural world or the abstract is all connected and intertwined. I travel across Canada to many locations including the landscape and animals in Canadian National and Provincial Parks. My approach to wild life photography is to capture the animal or bird in its natural environment. My approach to landscape photography is much more “Impressionistic” to express mood and feeling rather than a documentary postcard. I use every means to express movement and color through multi exposures, panning and infrared.
